Unveiling the Truth About Midlife Clutter with Amelia Pleasant Kennedy!
WHEN: Monday, Jan. 22, 2024
TIME: 5:00-6:00PM (Earlier time as our guest speaker is on the East Coast)
Google Meet joining information:
Video call link: https://meet.google.com/dwh-ybuo-rye
Join our insightful online session with the incredible Amelia Pleasant Kennedy, a Clutter Coach, Pro Organizer, and Certified Fair Play Facilitator. She also has an amazing podcast called "A Pleasant Solution Podcast" that focuses on organizing your home.
Amelia will guide you through the unspoken challenges of midlife clutter:
What No One Tells You:
Feeling exhausted and resentful from shouldering it all
The unspoken expectations of constant availability and work
The perpetual duty of putting others' needs before your own,
Juggling chores, care tasks, and endless to-do lists
Being the default clutter and household manager, 24/7
The toll of pretending to handle everything "happily" without complaint.
It's Time for Change:
Amelia will roll out the three obstacles to clutter that no one talks about. This will help you understand why it takes internal solutions to external clutter. Decluttering and organizing focuses on the surface problems, yet it does not address the reasons why we don't keep up the habit or avoid getting started at all!
Is it time to make some changes at your house?

Summer Entertaining Inspiration
The Home Decorators Club is hosting an in-person event at Bushnell’s Garden, Home and Gifts in Granite Bay
We will tour with Shelbey Bushnell, Merchandise Buyer, Bushnell Gardens, Nursery Home & Garden, both Inside the Gift Shop and Outside the nursery grounds.
We will start in the Nursery, walking and viewing unique plants, sculptural forms, and special interests plants. They have plants for every situation. Trying to find your style? We love the diversity and range of Bushnell. You will see influences of Asian, Mexican, and European plantings and pots. We will walk over to the Bird Avery where we will meet their Peach-Faced Love Birds! There are two cages in the gardens. These rosy-faced lovebirds, also known as the rosy-collared or peach-faced lovebird, are a species of lovebird native to arid regions in southwestern Africa such as the Namib Desert. Bring your camera.
Their outdoor covered shopping is filled with patio decor items. Heavy gauge windchimes, birding and hummingbird items for our feathered friends, pottery big enough to use as a statement piece and hold long-term plants, as well as other architectural elements that will enhance any space. Not only will we tour the Nursery to see the acres of plants they curate for our area, but we will also be able to discuss our own yard/plant questions.
We will then tour the Shop and discuss Bushnell's purchasing philosophy. You will note that they carry pieces that mimic natural elements with a strong connection to the outdoors. We love the way things are displayed, as you view their product lines. Their philosophy is that anything organic: shapes, finishes, and textures, all have a place within any and all interior spaces. Their themed vignettes are designed to show trendy new items along with everyday décor to inspire the customer with new ideas on how to elevate and update their own decorating.
I think you will find that you will elevate your Outdoor Entertaining with the inspiration and ideas you will get at Bushnell Gardens Nursery Home & Garden
Hope to see you there, call me if you have any questions. Jonelle'

HOW TO CREATE AN ORGANIZED HOME
Let's get organized! Is organizing a challenge? Is it hard to let go of anything? Or to let go of particular kinds of things? Are you just not sure what ‘the rules’ are about keeping ‘it’? There are so many kinds of thoughts that get in the way of this decision-making process and we often just give up. But take heart - there are also a number of techniques that can make this process easier! Come join me for a talk about the challenges of letting go. I’ll be sharing insights and how-to’s to help make letting go easier.
I have found Grace Bamlett, CPO® from Organized Outcomes to come and share with our group. Grace knows it can be difficult to "let go" of things at home and she has techniques that can help in the decision-making process. Most of her clients have difficulty at some point, even if it is only "Do I have to keep this piece of paper?" Decision-making techniques are useful for all clients, even if they don't find it particularly difficult.
Grace understands the difficulties you are likely to have encountered with being organized. She knows that getting (and staying) organized can be frustrating and even overwhelming for you. Grace feels there is nothing so satisfying as bringing order and beauty to chaos, to help others reach their goals, to improve their quality of life.

NEW TEAM STAGING EVENT
850 East Bidwell, Folsom, CA
between Trade Joes and Lowes
Would you like to hone your staging abilities? Learn new vignette ideas? Network with fun and creative women?? Then you won’t want to miss the Home Decorators Club June Staging event. This is now a confirmed event! I'm so excited.
This summer we are launching a NEW annual event called Team Staging. This Home Decorators Club Staging Interactive event is being put together by our friends at Home Consignment Center. I'm working with the store manager Marisa Akman-Moore and she and her team have in-depth experience in staging, store merchandising and design. Marisa will give a quick talk on how to pull together a home interior vignette. Interior Colorist Carol Shaw will give a presentation about color and the meaning of those colors in your home.
This is a group activity that is limited to 30 people. Our group will then be divided into 5 groups of 5-6 people. Upon arrival, you will check-in and receive a name tag, receive a vignette tips sheet, and be assigned to a “Team.” After our presentation by Home Consignment, you will meet your fellow team members at an assigned section of the store. There will be a countdown to “Go” and the teams have one hour to arrange your assigned vignette to rearrange and stage the space utilizing anything from the store. Each team will have a store staff member to give guidance.
There will be a panel of judges including the store manager Marisa Akman-Moore, interior designers on her staff and one surprise judge. One team will be declared the “winner” and that team will get prizes.
Light refreshments will be served compliments of our hosts The Home Consignment Store. A $5.00 (five dollar) fee is charged at all meetup event, at sign in, to defray meetup costs. I have heard Home Conmsignment Center will be giving out a discount coupon, so you want to be there!
Before and after photos will be taken and posted onto the Home Decorators website. We will also take team photos! We meet for a coffee after the meeting to toast to the success.
Hope to see you there, bring a friend to share in the fun!!

HOME DECORATORS SWAP
HOME DECORATORS CLUB LEADER'S HOME
Loomis, CA
You won't want to miss our annual Home Décor Exchange Party. An exchange party is where each guest brings 3-8 home decor accessories in good condition to swap with each other! Not only will you have fun, but you’ll clean out your attic, find new (to you) decorating accessories, support your Home Decorators Club, and help others in need (left over items will be donated to Charity) Here’s how it works. Each guest brings 3-8 home accessory items that they just don’t use anymore (such as a vase, picture, sculpture, wine rack, serving platter, silver, dishes, glassware, linens, rugs, bolts of fabric, holiday decor, lamps, chandeliers, …you get the idea). You drop those items off at swap location the night before the swap. When you arrive you see them up in good retail fashion on tables so everyone can view them. Then draw a number that will tell you when it’s your turn to pick an item to take home. There will be finger foods and snacks and plenty of time to make new friends. There is a $10.00 Fee for the event and it is paid at the door. Money for this event pays the event expenses and goes to the Home Decorators Club. You may phone me with questions 916.833.7807. Remember I have to limit the group to 25, so sign up right away.
This was the top rated events every year. Don't miss it! Call me today to get on the list for our next SWAP!
