Must-Have Second Hand Home Décor Shopping List
The MUST-HAVE Décor List
Years ago I started keeping a list of items I was looking for when I went out shopping. I expanded the list to items I could search for when second hand shopping. It is a list of basic items that you want to look for like garden urns, vintage apothecary jars or antique fabrics I could frame. This could be pieces for an existing collection or one that you are trying to build.
I simply keep my list handy adding to it when interesting things come to mind. I keep it updated and to refer to as I’m shopping thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets and more. Reviewing the list prior to my shopping excursion helps me keep my eye fine tuned to cut through the clutter and hone in on the types of items on my list.
Today I am sharing my extensive list with you. Saving you the time and trouble of making a list for yourself. There are 165 unique collectable items for you to peruse as you hone in on making your unique list.
I have added 10 categories for the search:
HOME
KITCHEN
KIDS/TOYS
ACESSORIES
BOOKS/ART
SEWING
GARDEN/YARD
FURNITURE
HOLIDAYS
DESIGNER CLOTHING
When shopping it's best to customize a list that compliments your home’s style. Think about colors, accessories and furniture that would work well with the current style of your home. Having a list keeps you from impulse buying - things you may not want in the long run. I keep my shorter list of what I am looking for today on my phone. I still refer to my Must-have original list regularly and add things and subtract things all the time.
I hope you enjoy the list! Let me know if you have ideas of things I can add to the list and we will do an update!
Until next time!! Jonelle'

Why A List?
Many of you have commented about having trouble figuring out what to look for when you are second hand shopping. It can be overwhelming at times wading through the isles of mismatch and jumbled items. Some special thrift shops are extremely well displayed and merchandised which makes shopping a breeze. Others are less organized and that can be extremely daunting. I think having a list gives you better focus as you try to discern if there is a treasure among all that stuff!
I have learned that I am much more successful when I set my sights on a few “goals” items to help me stay focused in either situation. Check out my master Must Have list of second hand finds. There you can pick and choose the items you want for your list. Think of it as inspiration.
Narrow It Down With A “Buy” List
I suggest creating a list of items that you’re on the hunt for now. I keep a running list on my phone of “things” and areas in the house that “need” help. If you’re anything like me, you have lots of big ideas for your home. This list helps me keep an eye out for the items that will directly satisfy an item on my list. I include color, size, shape and any details that are important.
